Daya Dorado

Daya Dorado’s self-proclaimed “Mexi-Country” music, encompasses the beauty and the triviality of her borderland experience. Raised in Texas in a Mexican household, her take on country music is a fusion of those two cultures. She currently lives in Nashville.

Awarded Rissi Palmer’s Color Me Country Artist Grant, along with the National Association of Latino Arts and Cultures Artist Grant, Daya is proudly one of the few Latinas currently in country music. Her influences include Linda Ronstadt, Freddy Fender, Juan Gabriel, George Strait, and Selena. Her songwriting, both in Spanish and English, reflects her trials in love and life, as well as  stories of her community. Her accordion playing is symbolic of her Norteño Mexican roots.

Daya just wrapped up recording her first Country album at Sonic Ranch Studios in January 2024. Its release is expected in May 2024.
